the environment, all of the people in the office were really nice and supportive. my schedule was able to be really flexible because they were so understanding of classes and other obligations that I had.

show respect to those working with you and you will receive respect in return. everyone at USF is super supportive and helpful, so get to know them and get along with them.

One piece of advice that I've learned with working in research is: every job is important. Even cutting materials is valued because without materials a study would not be possible, so if even if you are not directly writing up the research or collecting data, your job is important and valued.

What I liked
Getting lots of experience with a subject I knew nothing about beforehand, doing experiments and analyses on my own, and having practice presenting to my peers and superiors. It was a great learning experience.
What I wish was different
More organization, a lot of my peers did not have mentors that knew what was going on and they did not get such good supervision.
Advice
I would advise to learn as much as possible and do what you can to get leadership roles, such as performing experiments and analyses on your own.

What I liked
I liked that I was able to work in my field of interest, which is graphic design. The environment was very friendly and laid-back. I had a flexible schedule so I had nothing to worry about. The workload was perfect, and I had an adequate amount of time to finish each task.

Make sure you fulfill all of the client's needs in a design and communicate with them!

Don't be afraid to apply for programs that you do not meet the qualifications for - I sent an email and was told I could still apply, and I was accepted.
