Clicklist Assitant

August 2015 - October 2019 • Sugar Hill, GA

What I liked

I honestly like the people the most. I was friends with many of my associates and customers. I have many great memories there such as laughs with customers and the time I got to spend with people I worked with. I honestly miss the job very much and I hope to experience the same thing elsewhere.

What I wish was different

As much as I enjoyed working with people I honestly did not like working there in general. While there I was always left to get work done without any help from management or corporate. We experienced many dissatisfied customers and I was always yelled at for something I could not control. I ran the department at night by myself and was never given the pay for taking on the lead position. I worked there full time and had class everyday but whenever I got home at night I was always too tired to do homework. I honestly wished that they would change their ways, but I could not keep putting my body through such work, never getting a break, sometimes working more than 8 hours a day, and constantly being ignored and left to do everything on my own. I have since left although I currently struggle with money and paying my bills I stayed as long as I could until one day I could not do it anymore. Another thing I wish could have also been different was their lack of making the money you deserve for all the work you do.

Advice

Start your own business for your own sanity. Start now and don't stop until you are making the money that will sustain you. I have been told this by my parents many times and they still give me that same advice today, but as we all know teenagers don't listen and it has caused me to pause my freelance business, fail some classes, and have very bad back pains that won't go away. I did it for the money and I could have been doing what I love and could have generated way more income. So please do yourself a favor and do your own thing, watch how fast you grow, be that person you want to be and not what someone else wants. Be your OWN boss and just stay strong!!

Cashier

October 2017 • Westfield, IN

What I liked

I love that I work with amazing coworkers. I love interacting with the customers that came in to the store. I also had many learning experiences that happened throughout the summer.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had more experiences in other departments and more hours per week.

Advice

I would always say live one day at a time. Especially in retail, you cannot carry past experiences into the next days, because it will affect how you interact with customers.

Cashier

June 2018 • Warren, MI

What I liked

I really enjoyed working with new customers everyday and being a strong member of the company. I tried to make sure I followed the values of the company; acknowledge, assist, and appreciate. The speed of the store was moderate and we always had help in multiple areas (on the registers, bagging, ready management).

What I wish was different

I wish there would have been more opportunities for me to work over-time.

Advice

I would say be open to everyone. You learn a little bit of everything from every body. In some cases, I had customers who were going through things at home and in my line, I was able to help them get a smile on their face for the day. Whether it was helping them save money by an additional coupon, picking fresh produce they liked or anything of that sort; I loved helping people.

What I liked

It is a really good company, and the job was challenging but fun. It is a really summer job to make money for college.

What I wish was different

Nothing really. It is a good starting out job as well as a summer job

Advice

Make sure to work during the summer. Have fun as well. But make money in the summer so when you are in school, you can focus more on school than work.
