Arts Internship Award Program: Production Intern @ Blue Llama Jazz Club

The College of Music arts internship award program is available to College of Music students only.

The award provides a $1500 scholarship for a student to complete an internship (10 hrs/week, 10 weeks) at an arts organization host site. Both graduate and undergraduate music students are eligible for these awards. *Students are not eligible for AIAP internships after they have graduated (i.e.; if you graduate in May, you are not eligible for a summer AIAP internship).

Position Description
This internship is comprised of office hours, show hours and on-site event hours. You will be working closely with our team to gain an in-depth understanding of aspects of venue operations, event production, and the marketing process needed to fill the club. Through experience and learning, this program will enable you to explore different fields of the concert and promotion industry and the event production industry.
 

A Day in the Life of a Blue LLama Jazz Club Production Intern:
• Venue Operations (Artist Relations, Load In, Green Room Service, Stocking & Upkeep )
• Marketing (Social Media, Street Team, Design, Strategy, and Promotional Upkeep)
• Event Production (Artist Coordination, Production Office Management, Site Operations, and Production)
Dress Code: Dress code is casual professional for office hours and black clothes / suit jacket if needed…, but presentable. A majority of your work will be in a music venue / restaurant, but you are one of the many public faces of that venue and will be expected to dress (and act) as good representations of the business.

Responsibilities
• BLJC Show Day Production Assistant; Green Room Service / Load in & out
• Work with production team to achieve world class results daily
• Prepare audio and video recordings
• Assist with video switching
• Photo camera usage with Monopod, Gimbal, various lenses
• Assist in developing social media strategies for campaigns and projects
• Create and post content that aligns with our brand and objectives
• Analyze social media performance, track metrics, and provide insights
• Engage with fans, answer inquiries, and assist in building a loyal online community

• Assist in data analysis and reporting of digital product marketing efforts
• Design/breakdown of layered artist materials into various formats for weekly duties
• Design for special projects, e.g. merch campaigns, t-shirt designs, etc.
• Design for artist press, welcome signs, and other monthly/weekly venue display/on-site signage.
• If applicable, creative writing for BLJC weekly email blast and other company communications.

Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of the digital media landscape and fluency with prominent social media channels,
including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok…. Mostly Instagram
• Minimum 3 months of demonstrable social media experience
• Basic experience with video creation, including shooting video, capturing audio, editing footage using
professional video editing software and animating text for social media videos
• Graphic design literacy with programs such as Canva - willingness to grasp brand standards
• Beginner skills in designing graphics and Adobe Creative Cloud a big plus, but not required
• Basic exposure to or experience with marketing or analytics a plus, but not required
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Willingness to shift gears quickly
