Arts Internship Award Program: Capitol Harp Ensemble

***The College of Music arts internship award program is available to College of Music students only!

The award provides a $1500 scholarship for a student to complete an internship (10 hrs/week, 10 weeks) at an arts organization host site. Both graduate and undergraduate music students are eligible for these awards. *Students are not eligible for AIAP internships after they have graduated (i.e.; if you graduate in May, you are not eligible for a summer AIAP internship).

If you are interested, please submit your application materials to each organization's Handshake posting.

If selected by the organization, the award will be distributed as a scholarship to your student account. Please note that if you have loans, grants or other scholarships, this scholarship may affect your aid package. Please email Ben Ebener (ebener@msu.edu) if you have questions about your aid package. Capitol Harp Ensemble, Development and Communication Intern

About Us: Capitol Harp Ensemble is a small non-profit organization that offers the communities in the Greater Lansing Area the opportunity to experience, learn, and perform harp in an accessible, low-cost, friendly environment with quality instruction. We provide youth classes, adult enrichment classes with yearly recitals, and presentations in communities. 

The development and communication intern’s job includes: researching and helping to write and submit high-quality grant proposals, creating sponsorship packages and finding potential sponsors in the community and beyond, and managing and maintaining a positive and active presence on social media for CHE. 

Reports to: Executive Director

Responsibilities: 

  • Researches and identifies grant prospects. Drafts, revises, and helps produce high-quality proposals and reports for relevant grants while keeping track of grant deadlines.
  • Attends board meetings over Zoom (once per semester). 
  • Creates sponsorship packages and helps identify potential sponsors.
  • Manages CHE’s social media account and maintains a positive and active presence.
