Medical Scribe - Owosso Emergency Department

The exciting role of the medical scribe is to assist Emergency Department (ED) physicians and PA's at bedside to document patient care from admission to discharge. ED scribes use a laptop to document in the electronic medical record the interaction between the provider and patient. Scribes are at the hip of the provider for their entire shift, viewing the entire medical decision making process while assisting in documentation and other clerical tasks that the provider may have. Scribes are exposed to all elements of the hospital, including provider interactions, nursing staff, and health administration. It is a valuable experience for all pre-health individuals, not just pre-med or pre-PA.
All Scribes employed by Helix Scribe Solutions go through free employment training through the GVSU Scribe Academy (non-GVSU students are welcome to apply).The training includes 40 hours of online-based theory training and 40 hours of clinical training in the ED at which you while be working. After successful completion of clinical training, employment with Helix Scribe Solutions is offered (www.helixscribes.com).
