Our Unit:
The Office of Undergraduate Education at Michigan State University advances student success and works to close opportunity gaps by delivering comprehensive academic, advising, and transition support across first-year and transfer pathways. Through initiatives such as Summer Bridge programs, summer and first-year transition experiences, and cohort-based support models, the office takes a strategic, student-centered, and holistic approach to strengthening the undergraduate experience. In partnership with campus units and community stakeholders, these efforts continuously improve undergraduate programs and promote student persistence, engagement, and timely degree completion. These academic success priorities are advanced through the Office of Access, Transitions, and Student Success, which administers cohort-based programs serving students from targeted communities, including the Lansing Spartan Scholars Program (LSS) for first-year and transfer students from the Greater Lansing area and Detroit M.A.D.E., an initiative serving incoming first-year students from the Metro Detroit region.
