Anthropology Registration Internship

The Field Museum is pleased to announce the 2026 Anthropology Registration Internship. This internship will focus on processing new acquisitions, including cataloging, labeling, photography, and creating housing, though other registration and collection projects will also be available. The length of this paid internship will depend on the schedules of the intern and staff, but will be up to twelve weeks if full-time (35 hours a week). The intern will be required to work a minimum of three days per week at the Museum.

This internship with will be awarded to an advanced undergraduate or graduate student to work under the supervision of Lauren Hancock (Head Registrar) and Emma Turner-Trujillo (Assistant Registrar). The successful candidate will receive training on all aspects of processing collection items.

Qualifications
This internship will be awarded to an individual currently studying anthropology, art history, museum studies, or a related field. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of anthropology collections care, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, the ability to focus on tasks, a willingness to follow directions and procedures, the ability to work effectively as a member of a team, experience with object handling, and a demonstrated passion for museum collections work. Prior artifact photography, housing, collections, and/or registration experience is a plus.

Interns: Salary of $17.75 per hour for undergraduate students; $18.50 for recent graduates (6 months maximum) or graduate students; 35 hours per week for 12 weeks.

Internship may start on a designated Monday sometime between late May and June 2026, with term date 12 weeks from start date.
