Co-Founder (Growth & BizOps)

Co-Founder (Growth & BizOps) – JusticeStory.com

Turn a real SaaS into a sellable company before you graduate.
Time: 10–15 hrs/week+
Compensation: Equity and upside only – tied to successful sale by end of 2026

About JusticeStory.com:

JusticeStory.com is a niche SaaS product for criminal defense attorneys that helps them collect and organize their clients’ stories so they can build stronger cases. The product is live, has paying users, and real revenue (~80 subscribers generating about $3,000/month in recurring revenue). The next step is not “launch an idea” – it’s “scale something that already works” into a valuable, sellable asset.

You’ll work directly with the founder, a practicing criminal defense attorney, to grow this into an acquisition-ready SaaS business on an aggressive timeline (target: sale by December 2026).

What You’ll Own:

This role is for someone who wants to think and act like a founder, not an intern. Expect to:

Run customer acquisition experiments: associations, public defender offices, outbound, and lightweight digital marketing.

Build simple but clear funnels: track where users come from, where they drop off, and how to improve conversion and retention.

Work on positioning and pricing: free trials, plans, and packaging that make sense for solo defenders vs. agencies.

Talk to users: understand what they love, where they get stuck, and what would make them recommend us to other lawyers.

Help make JusticeStory legible to buyers: basic metrics, narrative, and documentation that an acquirer will care about.

You will be trusted with real responsibility and expected to ship, not just brainstorm.

Who You Are:

This is a strong fit if you are a UW–Madison undergrad in the business school who:

Is ambitious, analytical, and biased toward action.

Is excited by SaaS, GTM, and “how do we grow this?” questions.

Is comfortable with ambiguity and learning new things quickly (e.g., legal tech, sales sequences, simple analytics).

Communicates clearly, writes well, and can talk to professionals (lawyers, bar staff, agency leaders) with confidence.

Ideally has some experience or coursework in: marketing, entrepreneurship, sales, analytics, or product management.

No legal background is required. Curiosity and hustle matter more than prior domain experience. Programming experience a definite plus plus.

This opportunity is being offered only to UW-Madison undergrad students as your co-founder is an alumni of the UW law school.

How Compensation Works:

This is an equity-based co-founder role, not an hourly student job.

You receive an equity stake vesting over time and/or milestones.

Cash comp is expected to come from a successful sale of the company, with a working target of an exit by the end of 2026.

Your upside is directly tied to how much value you help create.

If you want a safe, traditional campus job, this is not it. If you want to actually help grow and sell a SaaS company while still in school, it might be perfect.

How to Apply:

Send:

A short email about who you are and what excites you about this role.

Your resume and/or LinkedIn.

2–3 sentences on a product or company you think is underrated and why.
